The Summer Of Everything Book Review

Image
Hello readers, I finished a book a week or 2 back and wrote an in-depth review on it so please continue reading. The Summer of Everything is about Wesley Hudson whose summer has gone terribly wrong and he has to face adulthood. I picked this book up as a part of a side quest in the Pondathon . I was a little bit disappointed with the end of the book but it was cute. I don't really get the hype around this book though. I do agree that it was a cute read. I think I set my expectations too high for this book and it isn’t the type of topic that I have too much interest in. Once, I finished the book I felt really good and it was a good way to end the day. This book would come under the genres of community, friendship, romance and young adult. I think what makes this book unique is its aspects of drawing attention to different types of music, comic books, a bookstore and the beauty of Santa Monica. I love Once Upon a Page after this read! I didn’t like this book that much because ...

Back and Excited

Hey everyone, I'M BACK. This time I have an exciting post.  My blog is now not only for stories and poems. We have book reviews, some movie and show reviews, challenges and a secret that you will see in the following post. I will also update my schedule in an upcoming post. Now you can see what the future posts are too! But since all of this updating takes a lot of time and effort you won't be seeing any posts often because the blog is going to get renovated. The estimated time for that would probably take around 2-3 weeks. So I hope you understand. Byeee, F E A T H E R

Glad!

Ciao readers, I'm so glad to write again. Today, I will be just posting a poem. I couldn't write a story because of reasons that I will tell you soon. This poem is the story of Prahlad. *** When I was born, There was not a single horn. I was not evil like my father wished, But rather certainly bliss. My father believed I was cruel, But something was saying it was a duel. I grew to be my father's tree, But enemy as my guru sees. He struck me for believing in my lord, Who was the foe of his. His lord was the king of thee, And also the father of me. My father called to his court, Which was in his grand fort. And he asked me who I praise? I replied, "Only who Vishnu says." He stared at me in complete shock, And asked himself, is my son the problem lock? He tried to make me die, But, I was a heavenly ally. Poison was sweet, And a fire was elite. Then came a day Where he furiously lay, On his majestic seat. "If your God is everywhere", He said in complete desp...

Adventures with Miss Marvolo #1

Bonjour my dear readers, This is the 10th post of my blog and thanks y'all for 400 views!!! Sorry for the late post. I keep telling you guys, sorry about not posting, that's why this month there are going to be a few updates in this blog. Let's start with a new colour scheme and greetings of different languages. Today's story is the beginning of a story that is currently in the works. I will be writing more of this story in the upcoming posts. My murder book has been cancelled. Why? Because I had a thrill for murder mysteries for a very short period of time, I don't think I'm ready to write a book yet. Ok, here we go- In the early 1960's I received a television from my uncle. My uncle, Dan was fantabulously rich and took great interest in modern objects. He was particularly intrigued by the television. Besides the fact that it took him 2 hours to switch it on, it looked like a box! When I passed by, he was entangled in wires and cables, staring at the instru...

A quick post!!

Hi everyone today's post is a quick one because I'm writing this very late in the night. As promised here is your weekly post. Walks, it takes everyone on a beautiful journey, everything you do is important. My walks with Mr Naidu were most enlightening. Mr Naidu is a 50-year-old man with a jolly spirit. Walks with him were the most interesting, new topics and delightful things pop out of nowhere. At 7 a.m and 5 p.m every day he would carefully get out of his house, slipping the house keys under the welcome carpet. In the mornings his talks would be peaceful and calm and in the evenings it would be filled with gossip. If he saw children he would take out a toffee from his crumpling pocket. Everyone in the community loved him. His best quality was the forgiving and tender attitude he had. Mr Naidu is not someone you see every day.  Thank you, everyone, see you next time. BTW how was your picnic? Feather

Where was I? Magical Objects#3_The Changing Diary

Dear Everyone, I am so very sorry for not posting. It's been a very busy few weeks. But, I did write a few stories in this time so, you may see more consistency now. Also, this is the finale of the Magical Objects Series! Today's story is a very deep one. Malo! Malo! Malo! He woke up with cold sweat. 1, 2, 3, the alarm blared. It was time to get ready for the day. "Suit up, look good." This line was his mantra.  His mother made a hearty breakfast which he thoroughly enjoyed. Malo got out of the comforts of his home into the bustling city of Singapore.  He caught the bus to Power High School. An elderly woman who was about to attend a funeral gets down at his stop and gives Malo a package. Filled with curiosity he tore apart the brown paper which encased a book, a diary.  'CHO' It was written boldly on the first page. The next page had typewritten notes on how to use it. 'The one holds this diary must write till the very last page to witness an almighty c...

When the Winds Stopped

Hello, It's Feather with a new post. How did you enjoy your 20 mins of nostalgia from last time? Today's story idea came to me when I was cycling. It is not a part of the magical objects series but, I really love today's story and I hope you like it too. Also, I decided to discuss a topic in every post as a new addition.  Miley was cycling as fast as she could through the narrow roads of Alolan. The wind was furiously charging at her. Miley cycled the fastest in her group of friends. She had unkempt brown hair which was always tied into pigtails. She wore a denim cap, which was given to her by her father from a foreign country. She never bothered to wear shoes, which resulted in her being barefoot most of the time.  She cycled, pushing against the wind till she reached the large water tank which provided water to the whole town. She stopped there for a while, admiring the majestic, black water tank which stored gallons of water. Then she took a turn and resumed her competit...

Magical Objects #2_The Reflection Jewel

Surprise! You must be wondering why did I post today? Well, I decided to make more stories for this series and once a week is too long of a waiting period, even for me. So, this week and the next I'll be posting on a weekday and Sunday. Happy World Bee Day!! I was actually hesitant to post today's story because it is not that great. But, I remembered something from a book I recently read (Big Magic). It was that when you do something you shouldn't hesitate to show it to the world. Just do it and move on to the next project. Now, it's time to read the story: Jane was once a majestic queen. She had everything she desired. But, she was self-absorbed and disrespectful to others. King Handon, Queen Jane's husband loved her dearly but, disliked her behaviour. He was loyal and gratifying to his subjects. so, he detested seeing her nasty behaviour. One day, Queen Jane took a stroll to the royal pond. At the centre of the pond, there was a lotus. A deep blue colour gem tha...

Magical Objects #1_The Starry Umbrella

G'day mate, Welcome back to the blog. Today I wanted to start something exciting, so I decided to make a series of stories for my blog. This series is called "Magical Objects". In each post, I will have a new story about a different magical object. Did you enjoy the task from last week? I sure did. I hope you enjoy the first story of this series.  A strange man in fine clothes was begging out on the streets. He had a black umbrella with him. A passer-by noticed the strange man's umbrella and desperately wanted it. She asked the man for his umbrella in exchange for a hundred dollars. He naturally agreed and gave her the umbrella with a warning, "Don't get too lost..." And he was gone within the blink of an eye. She walked back to her cottage with the brand new umbrella. She hung it on her coat stand and went to make her evening tea. Her little retriever, Bean was staring at the umbrella uneasily. It was nighttime and she was heading to the bed when she sa...

Happy Mother's Day

Hallo, Welcome back to the blog. The tasks I gave you last time were fun, right? BTW, Happy Mother's Day!!! I made my mother a card, a poem, bookmarks, breakfast and lip scrub.  I even gave her a manicure. But, you don't have to go all out, just appreciate your mother. I just want to take a moment and tell you how spectacular the book, Big Magic. This book gave me a whole new perspective on ideas and creativity. It's time for the story. Marathon Rotterdam. The marathon, Reshmi was challenged to do. Reshmi was dared by her children to run a marathon as she was once the athletic star of her college. She had trained for 20 mins for 1 week. That morning she told herself, "I have the power to create change." over and over again. She got into her old track pants and her lucky shirt. She drove to the city centre, to see more than 10,000 people. On the side desk, there were rolls, sandwiches, stroopwafels and balls of gouda cheese. A person shot a bullet in the sky, whic...

Murders and thrills

Bonjour! Welcome back to my blog. I'm extremely sorry for the late post: I was having writer’s block. Today’s story is a teaser of a book I am currently writing. So, my viewers get an exclusive sneak peak on my book.📖 If you have done your tasks you will know about the dangers of radioactivity and the unfortunate story of Chernobyl. Did you listen to jazz music? This form of music is wonderful and I love it very much. Let’s get into the story, shall we? Dr Harinish Shetty, the head surgeon of Srinivas hospital was murdered. His hotel room in Le Château Rouge was clean and it did not look like a disastrous event had just happened.  The room service entered to clean his room and had found a cardboard box around 50 inches inside a cupboard with the doctor in it! Horrified at the sight, he contacted the manager. The case of this murder was taken by detective Orlando who had solved many cases like the theft of the Mona Lisa. He didn't look like  a detective, rather like a n...

Jungles

Welcome back to my blog!! I hope you did your task from last time's post. If you did not, don't fret just remember to cherish the nature around you. Today's story is about love for nature. * Dane lives in New   York: The jungle of buildings and busyness. He lived in a lovely Victorian home with a  lush green lawn. Dane, as a child loved to listen to his grandpa's adventures as a jungle explorer. He felt empty because the place he lived in wasn't near to anything of a jungle that he longed to live in. As his father was a rich businessman, Dane asked him for a plot of land to fulfil his emptiness. The land that was given to him was a dry piece of land enclosed by wire brackets. He decided to change it into something more suitable to his needs. First, he removed the wire brackets and replaced them with a 5-inch tall brick border. Then, he fertilised the land. When this plot of land was ready for prep, he planted different species of palm around the land. This made a l...

Welcome!!!

Hi! My name is Feather and welcome to my blog. So, what is FeatherBlogs about? It is a weekly blog with wonderful short stories written by moi. I will also add some other exciting content like, crafts, books to read, hacks, news and more. Today’s short story is one that I wrote for my little sister a while back. She loved the story very much. I hope You enjoy it too  It was a funny day in the town of Wiggle-Boggle. Tasha, the techie of the town was inventing the Dreamspot, a head wear to wear when you sleep. It triggers the brain which results in the pictorial form of their dream and records it. This is later displayed onto a screen and Voila, a movie. She needed the Mayor's permission to open the theatre, which was successful. Now, she only required a person who would wear this. She went to her best friend Sinhani, an Indian lion. Sinhani had an amazing music career: though, she was only 16. Tasha asked Sinhani, whether she would wear it. But she said that there was no point as sh...
